(More customer reviews)My 5 year old daughter got this for her birthday yesterday. She loves seeing it spin in the air, but she is having a difficult time with getting it to fly off the mermaid base. There is no control of where the thing flies too once you set it off from the base, and it has hit the walls, ceilings and furniture. She is the only kid in the house, but I could imagine if there was another child in the house or a playmate that someone could get hurt from this. She sure does enjoy seeing it fly though, and I would say that it would have to definately be an outside toy primarily, but we live in PA and it is cold and snowy in the winter time, not too much outdoor fun right now. Outside of the drawbacks that I have already mentioned I would have to say that the child would have to be atleast 6 years old to be able to pull the string back and release the skydancer in the air without too much trouble, like my 5 year old is having now. If your younger child is going to get frustrated from doing this, then I would suggest not buying the toy, otherwise go and have fun.
