(More customer reviews)Best use is at top speed from about 20 ft away. About 8 out of 10 "pitches" are in the strike zone. Battery life seems solid. The tripod it came with is very poor quality (functional, but a cheap piece of junk).Probably better off purchasing separately. Be careful with children using machine (if a ball gets stuck their first instinct is to look into exit hole....very dangerous if a ball springs loose).
