(More customer reviews)My 9 year old son loves magic. He enjoys watching the various TV shows that demonstrate magic and also show how the tricks are done. He wanted to do some tricks himself. This is a great basic magic trick set for a young child interested in magic.
The tricks are easy for a child to perform, and they get much pleasure from performing them. None of these tricks are really great tricks. In the sense that you would never pay a cover to see them. The magic hat is very cheesy, but for a young child, it looks like a magic hat, has a pouch to hide a fake bunny (included with the set) and lets him pull a rabbit out of an empty hat. What more can a young child who is interested in magic want than the simple pleasure of feeling like they are a magician?
I wouldn't recommend this kit for children much younger than 4. As there are a number of small parts, and it could present a choking hazard. A lot of the magic, is in the imagination of the child. As I mentioned the hat, and related wand, wouldn't be credible for a professional production. However for a young child in a play or living room, they are more than sufficient.
