I have most of the "action" figures from the Harry Potter sequence. The students are all about 5 ins tall, and surprisingly well made and detailed for the [money] that they cost. They look like the actors in the Warner Bros. film, down to costume and accessories, which is good or not-so-good depending on your point of view (Harry's glasses are silver rather than black). Let me repeat, however: the quality of design and materials is really very good.
Despite being action figures, there is a limited range of positions you can make them assume, mostly because they do not always balance steadily on their own two feet. Hermione, for instance, keels over every time I touch my desk.
The accessories are pretty good. This Harry has a wand and a neat Hedwig. The trouble is, these small bits can get detached from the figure very easily and misplaced. For this reason, I wonder whether the figures are more useful as actual toys to be used by children (not very small children, mind) or as collector's items for HP-obsessed teenagers and adults -- which is why I own them!
Each figure comes with a little trick coin and a token that can be used with the manufacturers' wand duel game to create different effects (which I haven't yet tried).
