(More customer reviews)Remember lava lamps? Imagine one of those, in the form of a long plastic cylinder -- the part that's horizontal in the illustration -- connected to a traditional kaleidoscope. Inside the cylinder is liquid of various hues that flows slowly, carrying with it bubbles and brightly colored pieces of various shapes. You can hold the clear cylinder horizontally, as in the illustration, and slowly turn it, or you can hold it vertically so the images you see will shift quickly.
None of this can convey the startling beauty of what you will see. In fact, if you buy this for a child, you may want to buy another one for yourself. It's definitely not just for kids.
It should be noted that the shipping charge adds 56% (!) to the price, so you'll pay a total of $21.82 (as of this writing). But just wait until you see it -- it's worth it.
