(More customer reviews)Amazon really needs to recategorize this product, because if it were to be used as a "toy" it would break very quickly. As such, it is a very fine collectible. I was hesitant to buy it from Amazon instead of the WB online shop, but it is in fact the same seller and the same fine product. It IS made of resin, not wood, and is somewhat fragile. The coloration is also different. In the photograph it appears grey or silvery. It is, in fact, a very dark matte black, not extremely glossy.
It was shipped promptly and in very secure packaging. The wand is nestled inside very dense foam padding, inside a collector's box, which is inside a padded shipping box. I was very pleased, and when the clerk at the post office pulled that long, thin box out of the bin, I felt as if I were at Ollivander's myself!
The wand is a bit heavier than I had imagined, but it is not a bad thing. One must simply be mindful and take care not to drop it.
Overall, I am very pleased. My only regret is that I wish these products could be made of real wood instead of resin, but that cannot be helped.
